The Purple Pomegranate, a fine craft specialty store, is featuring work by Billings woodworking artist, John Wojcik during the month of June. John grew up in a small town in Massachusetts. As John grew so did his passion for the outdoors. After graduating college with a degree in Engineering Technology, John’s love for the outdoors brought him to Montana. In Montana John was introduced to the art of Inlay. After two years of studying this art John decided to develop his own unique approach to this art. Eight years later John has created unique silver and wood inlays that enhance any product through his company Drop Point.
While John primarily inlays knives, money clips, and wine openers, he has since expanded his love of art and has created new products such as custom signs, wood ornaments, custom hand cut sterling silver pendants and cuff links. Each piece is customized with inlaid wood. John cuts, shapes, sands and polishes each piece. Maple wood inlays (images) are hand inlaid to insure a great look and unsurpassed quality.
Meet John during Whitefish Gallery Nights, Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 6-9 PM. John’s work will be displayed during the opening and throughout the month of June.
