We are excited to have Kim’s artwork in our shop for the month of September!
Kim Shirley is an award winning watercolor artist residing in western Montana. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho and has since been actively participating in artistic organizations and groups close to a decade. Kim is a member of the Transparent Watercolor Society (TWSA), Women Artists of the West (WAOW) and a Signature member of the Montana Watercolor Society (MTWS). She regularly competes in juried watercolor exhibitions around the nation in addition to other juried exhibitions each year, the most recent being the 2nd Annual Icons of the West held at the Dana Gallery in Missoula, MT. She has won awards for her work in watercolor and was juried into the MTWS annual juried exhibition 8 years in a row. Kim prefers to work with transparent watercolor in order to capture the light and mood of the subjects she paints but regularly works with other mediums such as oil, graphite, ink, and block printing or lino-cuts.
