WOW Unveiling and Mosaic Art by Deb Stika and Students


The third mosaic window in the series of the WOW (Windows On Whitefish) community art project is being unveiled in a special celebration preceding the September 4 Whitefish Gallery Night at 5:45 p.m. on the corner of Second Street and Central Avenue.  This mosaic work of art created by the public under the guidance of artistic director Deb Stika, depicts the season of Fall, joining the windows of SpDeb '14ring and Summer. An opening reception for the student and volunteer thank you show, featuring the mosaic art of WOW artistic director Deb Stika takes place from 6-9 p.m. during the regular Whitefish Gallery Nights.  Joining Deb Stika’s artwork are 46 pieces created in her mosaic workshops by her students.  Another series of workshops are being offered in September-October-November-December along with the free community sessions to complete the final community mosaic window, Winter.  

The “WOW Show” will Deb 2 '14be on exhibit at Stumptown Art Studio through September 30, 2014 at 145 Central Avenue in Whitefish, Montana.  The non-profit community art center is open 7 days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 on Sundays.  Art activities at the center include paint-your-own pottery, glass fusing, mosaic-making and year-round classes and workshops for youths and adults.  A clay co-op is available for using the facility and fabulous artwork sales are in the gift area.  Ongoing exhibits can be seen along the brick wall in the gallery.
