The Purple Pomegranate, a fine craft specialty store, is featuring work by Whitefish photographer, Jerry Meislik during the month of July. Jerry is an avid photographer who has been pursuing his passion for imaging for nearly fifty years. For many years, he shot with film cameras but recently has transitioned to digital photography. He loves the artistic control and freedom offered by processing the images himself.
Jerry’s photographic interests include nature, wildlife, scenic photos and abstracts. He is particularly fascinated with patterns, textures, light, visual puzzles and abstractions. Living in Montana, he is captivated with the ever continuing changes in light, color and climate offered by the landscape. Jerry also loves getting down on the ground and photographing animals and children at their level and from unusual angles. Many of Jerry’s images seize the fleeting moment that is often missed with the naked eye but captured in images.
Jerry’s other interests include bonsais and he is a published author of books and articles about bonsai. He is a semi-retired Ophthalmologist and enjoys hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and computers.
Meet Jerry during Whitefish Gallery Night, Thursday, July 7th, 2011 from 6-9 PM. Jerry’s work will be displayed during the opening and throughout the month of July.
